Your remote.
Your home.
DuoMote is provided by Josh Wright. This policy explains the information used by the app and what happens when you contact support.
Information stays on your device
DuoMote stores your room names, device configurations, activities, and preferences on your iPhone. Home Assistant access tokens and Android TV pairing credentials are stored using the iOS Keychain. The app does not operate a developer-hosted account or cloud service for this information.
Connections you choose
Local Network access lets the app discover and communicate with compatible devices and Home Assistant instances. Device commands, connection identifiers, and authorization information are sent to the devices or Home Assistant instance you choose. A configured Home Assistant server may be local or remote, depending on your setup.
Home Assistant sign-in takes place through your instance’s login page. DuoMote receives authorization tokens rather than your Home Assistant password. Your Home Assistant deployment and connected integrations have their own data practices.
Optional location
If you enable Follow the room and grant location permission, the app uses approximate location on your device to calculate sunrise and sunset for theme selection. This location is not sent to the developer. You may decline permission, disable the option, or revoke access in iOS Settings.
No advertising or tracking SDKs
DuoMote does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking SDKs. The app does not transmit your configuration or usage history to the developer. Apple may process purchase and diagnostic information under its own policies.
Support communications
If you email support, the developer receives your email address and whatever information you include. This information is used to respond to your request and investigate issues. Do not include passwords or access tokens. Support messages may be retained while needed to address the request; contact us to request deletion, subject to applicable legal obligations.
Your choices
You can remove devices, rooms, and activities in the app. Deleting a room leaves its devices unassigned. Home Assistant authorization can be revoked through your Home Assistant instance, and TV pairing can be removed on the TV. Deleting the app removes its local app container; iOS Keychain items may persist, so revoke device/server authorizations separately when needed.
Children and policy changes
The app does not request personal information from children. This policy may be updated when app behavior changes; the effective date above will be revised.
